UPDATE: The winner is Jane!
*~*~*

Next Monday is going to be a big day for folks in my area. Schools will be closed. Everyone I know is planning a party. My sister and brother are driving down to enjoy the view from my other brother’s yard across the road. I bought the glasses and the T-shirt!

Of course, I’m talking about the GREAT SOLAR ECLIPSE. Which we may or may not be able to observe. The weather forecast changes daily. We can only hope that the stars align, along with the sun and the moon, so we can observe it all happen. Otherwise, we’ll get to enjoy total darkness during a thunderstorm. Woohoo.

For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, tell me whether you will be a lucky person to be in a place to observe the phenomenon—and do you have party plans?

Not sure how much can be seen here in NC. Need to get to Warby Parker…they are supposed to have the glasses. Enjoy!🌞

We will just get a partial but should still be intriguing.

I am in SW PA. I think we may have a shadow of the eclipse, but not sure. I don’t have the glasses to watch. This should be rather fast. I sat outside one night when we moved into this house (50 years ago ) to watch a LUNAR eclipse. That was the longest, most boring length of time I ever wasted. Guess we’re used to quick events on TV.
Still, when I think of solar eclipses, I think of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court.

We are supposed to be on the northern edge and see a partial, rather than total, as I understand it. However, I live in Michigan. There are already jokes about cloudy skies obscuring the view. No parties that I know of planned, but I may wonder to my front porch and check it out, it the skies are clear and the weather is decent.

Know exactly what you’re going through with the weather concerns. I live in the path that the last one in the states happened. Thanks to the cloud cover all we got to see was a dimming of the overall light levels for a few minutes.

I don’t plan to party. I’m not in a good place for viewing. I’ll probably watch it online.
