The Morning After Hangover… and a Question

I’m late posting this today. I’m relaxing a bit. So far, I ate breakfast, went for a swim, took a shower… I’ve been looking through emails trying to catch up. I hope to write new words later today…

Conquests was a labor intensive effort to get produced. Now, it’s out there, and I can’t wait to see what people think. I’ve done collections before (see my Collections website), selecting the stories and doing the first round edits, but then I had the luxury of throwing it over the fence to the publisher to handle “the rest.” This time, I had to arrange the intensive editing, the promotion, the corralling of authors to help with getting the word out. They also helped with the art work, the blurb, etc. It was a true group effort! I hope all goes well, because I’d love to do more of them—be it for other publishers or on my own.

Next up will be the tentatively titled Rogue Hearts

Conquests begs the question, is there a market still for erotic anthologies of short stories? I’d love to hear your opinions. From my perspective as a reader, I gravitate toward shorter fiction because 1) I have very limited reading time, and 2) I appreciate the skill it takes to condense a complete story into a shorter format. Of course, I’ve been doing the latter for several years now, so I know I’m biased! 🙂

I’d love to do more historical anthologies—medieval knights and Ancient warriors—and of course, more iconic contemporary heroes—more cowboys, Spec Ops dudes, etc. Is there anything you’re eager to see? I’d like to do one or two collections every year (it’s all I have time for given my writing schedule).

Let me know what you think!

Hi Delilah! I am a fan of anthologies of short stories. The last couple of anthologies I read took me forever to get through so it’s nice to have something short and sweet (and HOT!) to read that’s less of a time commitment. I would LOVE to see more cowboy stories, but even more so I adore anything you write in the paranormal genre, specifically vampires…

I have a thing for Beta heroes (obvs) and cyborgs. And older women with younger men is always fun (in real life and in books!)

So, I see I need to add paranormal and sci-fi themes. Hmmm… can already see an antho devoted to pleasure bots, AI companions and cyborgs…

I love about anything you’ve ever done! I also like collections of short stories; sometimes it’s nice to have a quickie to read right before bedtime. 🙂

I’d never read any viking stories until I read one of yours back in January. While they may not be my favorite romance story I enjoyed it very much. You are indeed the queen of short stories for me. It takes a special skill to deliver something so good in very few words.

Pretty much if you write it I will read it! 🙂

ButtonsMom! Thanks for the support!! Really no preferences? Cowboys? Bikers? Something New Adult with college-age heroines? Alien invasions? Shifter dudes?

It would probably be easier to say what I don’t like. LOL

I’m not crazy about some of the motorcycle stories I’ve read; they were just too much bad, way bad, boy stories. I do like stories where the hero rides a bike as long as he’s not too nasty or bad.

I’ve read some alien stories that were OK but others that weren’t.

I’m surprised at how much I’ve enjoyed NA stories, especially considering that I’ll be 60 soon.

I’m serious when I say if you write it I will read it. I’ve read many new types of stories, ones I would never have tried, since I’ve been following your work. <3

I’m most likely to grab an anthology that’s paranormal, kinky or both…but tell me what you want me to write and I’ll try it. Except motorcycle gangs. Motorcycle CLUBS, sure… I know plenty of big, tough bikers with good hearts. But not gangs.

LOL! Buttons and Teresa. Maybe I’ll put biker boys on the backburner! But a paranormal… That could work.
