Saturday Puzzle-Contest: Flea Market Treasure
Saturday, November 25th, 2023

UPDATE: The winner is…Rachelle Lerner!
*~*~*

I had a late start today. Why?

  1. Last night (this morning?), I was up from 2 AM to 6 AM due to insomnia. Then, I slept until 8:30 AM. My dd woke me because…
  2. We committed to taking the 10-year-old on a shopping adventure—translation: a garage sale, the dollar store, and then the flea market.

I’m so tired now I’m yawning while I’m writing this. As soon as it posts, I’m taking a nap!

Your Saturday challenge, should you accept it, is to:

Solve the puzzle then tell me what sort of treasure you would love to find for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card.

I don’t do much treasure hunting these days, but once upon a time, I furnished my entire house with treasures found at yard sales and “antique” malls, aka flea markets. Love looking for fun furniture. They had some neat stuff back in the day. Other than my bed, everything I own is vintage.

Any odd shaped colored glass bottle. The older, the better. I love the cobalt blue but I also enjoy any other colored glass.

I like to find those wooden plaques shaped real houses, especially from Charleston SC.

At this point in my life, I’m shedding treasures rather than collecting. I love them, but I know that my kids don’t share my passions.

Since I’ve downsized recently I used to look for unique teacups. If I found one now it would have to be truly unique for me to get it.

I love large old Christmas tree ornaments like used on town square Christmas trees. I have a couple. One has Currier and Ives Sleigh Ride on one side and Home Christmas on the e other. Made of heavy porcelain. About 10” across and 12” high. I use them as window decorations. I also have a few large glass ornaments.

I’m trying to mainly downsize, but it’s fun to look for miniatures!
