UPDATE: The winner is…Cara!
*~*~*
We never see this. Well, almost never. We can have years in between seeing a blanket of snow, so we savor it. Strange, I know. But the kids have dug through drawers to find gloves they never need and find boots that won’t soak up water in a second to go play in the snow. Mind you, the “kids” are 11, 16, and 20—plus my dear daughter, whose age I won’t mention.
Other than ensuring our many animals (goats, horse, geese, and chickens) are all safe and have food and shelter, they are in play mode. Mom (my dd) made two big pots of soup yesterday for us to nosh on whenever we get hungry—taco soup and tortilla soup. What is the difference? Oh, big difference the way she makes them. One has beans and beef the other is purely veg and spice. They had a karaoke night last night in the living room—always hilarious. We all nap when we want (me, more than the others).
So far, no power outages other than yesterday morning’s inexplicable loss. The temperature will warm up above freezing tonight, but not long enough to melt everything. So, tomorrow, we expect a lot of ice on the roads and patches of snow. We’ll be stuck inside another day, which I love, but which may be kind of confining to the kids since one day of snow is fun, two is boring, right?
Anyway, strange day. Terrible fires in LA, a president-elect sort of held accountable for his crimes, continued weirdness about which countries we’re going to annex/conquer because we can… I’m happy to turn off the news, enjoy the winter wonderland outside, and simply be happy I’m here to see another snow fall.
I hope you are all safe and cozy in your homes.
For fun, I’m including a memory game for you to play! Exercise that gray matter! It’ll help you keep sharp, promise. I’m using the images from my OG bounty hunter series set in Bear Lodge, MT—Montana Bounty Hunters.
Enjoy the game. For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, tell me what you see when you look outside. Do you have snow on the ground? Is it raining, sunny? Do you have big plans for the weekend? Have fun!

Your snow pic looks magical! I love this kind of snow. Deep, packable into the perfect snow ball or snow man, and short lived.

I was not happy that Bismarck was going to get snow when I am in Springdale. But we got several inches. So I am very happy.

I see melting snow. It’s a gorgeous day. I am planning to stay home to cook and clean to make next week easier.

I see cloudy skies. Snow on the way. Half snow half grass. And very cold.

It is sunny but cold. No snow

our inch of snow from last week as mostly melted away tho it’s quite cold – need to find some thicker gloves. When I was a kid (before there were good snow boots available and you wore your shoes in the boots) my Mom made me wear plastic bags over my shoes inside the boots so my shoes wouldn’t be ruined (shoes were made out of leather & didn’t do well in water)

I have that white stuff falling from the sky. It is reported that it will last all night. I am hunkered down nice and cozy and plan to stay that way through the weekend.

Snow in Northern Va more than we’ve had in a few years. And more to come supposedly. Glad I got errands done today. Will see what the weekend brings. Otherwise I’ll just stayed in and read.

We got 6 inches last weekend, and last night we got another inch of snow, I’ve been off the past 3 nights from work and tomorrow night starts my 4 nights in a row again of 12 hour night shifts, stay safe and warm everyone, hugs and prayers to you Delilah Devlin, and I hope the kids have another day of enjoyment in the snow ❄️ tomorrow

We are experiencing summer storms. So outside is VERY wet.

We are experiencing a rare winter mix – middle GA doesn’t see this very often. We have snow and sleet happening and the low tonight is in 20’s. The sidewalks are rolled up I.E. every thing closes down. The white is actually beautiful to look at hopefully ice won’t form on the powerlines so we will keep power. Then I will be thankful again that we only experience this kind of weather every so many years!

There’s some snow cover in spots…not a lot. It’s gray & overcast & cold….very cold. I like these kinds of puzzles

There is a bit of white stuff two inches or so. I think the south has more than we do in northern Michigan after the storm.
It cloudy that I can see now. It was sunny a bit yesterday. No big plans this weekend that I know of. Reading, drawing

We had a dusting one morning that thankfully was melted by noon.

It’s a sunny but cold day here in Pa. There’s a light dusting of snow on the grass leftover from yesterday but otherwise just cold.

Cool and overcast

what’s funny is my house is full of windows and doors, but from my kitchen, where I spend most of my time, I really cannot see outside. 1 window is 2 feet from the brick side of the next door house. 2 windows have sheers and heavy curtains. 2 windows are so high you cannot look out to the ground, only up to the wires and the 2nd story of the house across the street. 2 windows are in an unused room. The doors, 1 to a side porch next to the next door house and the other leads to a closed in porch. I keep the doors closed to conserve heat. So, during the winter, all I really see is an ugly grey sky. From the back closed in porch, I see about 8 inches of snow.

It’s been sunny today, which is lovely! The snow looks beautiful, but chilly!
