UPDATE: The winner is…Jennifer Beyer!

Since school shut down on Thursday due to the winter storm, we had an unexpected four-day weekend! Not that we minded one bit.
The kids have enjoyed the snowfall even if the snow wasn’t suitable for building a snowman or an igloo. They did enjoy sliding down our short hill and throwing icy snowballs at each other. My daughter made two big pots of soup which we’ve already managed to devour. She made two batches of our favorite focaccia bread.
Before the storm, we bought a copy of Wicked off of Prime Video. The girls loved it so much, they’ve rewatched it a couple of times already and have rewound all the musical numbers so they can memorize the songs. They’ve also had a karaoke night.
We have two more days to go. I’m wondering if I can interest them in another movie night. I wonder what might interest all of them.
So, for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, how about you offer some suggestions I can make. Then I’ll make some popcorn, assembles some finger foods, and hunker down for another night they’ll carry fond memories of in the future. Enjoy the puzzle!

Right now, my daughter and I are all about Harry Potter. She is a HUGE fan to the point she is actually writing a book featuring a lesser character. She is also taking me to Chicago later in the month to see the Cursed Child stage play with the original London cast. A fun treat she worked many hours of overtime to get and chose me to share it with her. Consequently, all of the movies are being watched. Fun family entertainment.

It maybe older but I loved The Librarian Trilogy. It can be streamed on Peacock and if you like them there is a series to stream The Librarians that was on TNT gives you several movie nights. The Librarian is a series of original fantasy-adventure made-for-television films from TNT starring Noah Wyle as the Librarian, who protects a secret collection of artifacts. They are wicked good.
The Librarian: Quest for the Spear (TNT, 2004)
The Librarian: Return to King Solomon’s Mines (TNT, 2006)
The Librarian: The Curse of the Judas Chalice (TNT, 2008)
Television Series
The Librarians (TNT, 2014-2018)

If they like musicals, how about The Wiz, Singing in the Rain or Ella Enchanted?Or maybe a Shrekathon?

My daughter favorite is Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. She loves musicals. My DVD player died or I would do a Harry Potter watch through, Down Persicope is always a great laugh.

Princess Bride, Wizard of Oz, Baby’s Day Out or you can go with the old Star Wars or Indiana Jones movies.
These are a few I would like. They might not be for everyone.

I suggest you watch the original Wizard of Oz and maybe the Wiz or any other derivative to capture the full intentions of the original book.

I love Napoleon Dynamite, Spiderman-Into The Spiderverse, Bill And Ted’s Excellent Adventure. I’m trying to think of variety but those are some really good popcorn movies.

Sometimes my kids like to rewatch stuff they liked as kids, so the old Pokemon movies/episodes, or they like watching old episodes of Regular Show or other goofy stuff. And for a while they were watching Attack on Titan or One Piece episodes together…

Have they ever seen some of the older musicals – Grease, Singing in the Rain, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Fiddler on the Roof, Kiss Me Kate, Hairspray, GiGi, Mamma Mia
