UPDATE: The winner is…Ellen Wulf!
*~*~*
I know… Silver Soldiers released less than a month ago (and I hope you’ve all read it!), but it’s time for me to think about the next one because these things take time to pull together.
Last week, I asked for you all to offer up ideas for the theme for the next volume of sexy Boys Behaving Badly short stories. Below, I have a poll with some of those ideas listed. I’m not married to any of them, although some already have ideas percolating in my head…
I need themes that authors can take and run with. Themes that are broad enough that authors won’t be writing the same stories—meaning, something that would lend itself to different genres (contemporary, historical, sci-fi, paranormal) and settings (earthly places, outer space).
Not only do I need to appeal to readers, but I also have to attract writers to the project. So, help me out as I consider which themes will intrigue both readers and writers.
The Poll
Vote for your favorite themes. You can choose up to three. For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, let me know which appealed the most and if you can “see” possible stories! Also, if there’s a theme not mentioned here, but that you think might work, tell me about it!

Gah!!! So many awesome choices!!

Ooh… I can envision some fun ideas from this batch of possibilities! My pick is the secret identities… especially if both characters are being Clark Kent, so to speak…

What great ideas. It was hard to pick. Too bad you can’t use them all. I bet you would be able to interest a lot of authors with that. First come first served. If they drag there feet they may no get the one they like. It would also interest a lot of readers. Oh I almost forgot. My choices are Time Travelers, M.C. and Made to order husbands. How about combining all three. That would make an interesting read. Time traveling M.C. mail order husbands.

How about big, brawny oil rig workers, past and present… or mountain rescuers, or small western town sheriffs…past and present. Or maybe the handsome farmer next door (could be grapes, vegetables, beef, or dairy. Or maybe a group of traveling veterinarians who visit remote towns….possibilities are endless…..how about archeologists!

That’s a great list. Second Chances are always appealing to me. And the made to order….mail order brides or husbands can be done from historical right through contemporary really. And Bad Boys next door are always fun..

@Diane Sallans, I think MC usually stands for Motorcycle Club…

So many great choices.

So many great choices but I am going with Made to Order, MC and Sports Heroes. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

When I read the suggestion of mail order husbands, from your earlier blog, I was hit with ideas and think this reverse trope would appeal to many.
I also love the survivors theme because you really can have a lot of fun with it and there will be many possible storylines.

I love second chance because it can be any ages, any gender, shifter, and is total open to what floats the authors boat. Teachers can also be open as there are so many grade levels from single parent of a Kindergarten child who falls for teacher, to Professor who realizes he/she is falling for a student (forbidden). Not sure about time travelers though.

Some great themes. I chose bad boy next door, MC, and Small Towns.
I also like mountain rescue, smoke jumpers, a series set in Alaska…

So many choices hard to choose just 3 🙂

I feel like they are all good choices but I think small town could be another point to add to any of the other story ideas. I can’t wait to see what you decide!

they all would be great!
