Today, I’m up at O-dark-thirty to get this blog completed because I have to get a shower and get to the holiday craft show! My daughter and I have prepared for months but were still working up until yesterday because we didn’t feel like we had enough “stuff”—um, we do, but we always feel we could’ve done more. I’m leaving my space a wreck, paints and papers still on my desk and art table. Everything strewn around. I DON’T CARE. I have to shower and get dressed in the most obnoxious Christmas clothing. I’ll dig up a Christmas pin for my jean jacket… Should I bring Christmas fairy lights…? STOP!

The holiday is approaching! It’s not just The Day I’m thinking about. The kids will be out of school next week, and we have to think about how to fill that time with memories.

We’ve got a few plans. A family bonfire is always fun. Movie nights, too. But how else will we fill all that time? I started a list.

We’re starting to pick up ingredients for the Thanksgiving meal from the grocery store. Last year, who’d have thought premade stuffing would be so hard to find? Or turkeys?!

We’re looking forward to the kids having time off from school. The time from Halloween onward always feels like a march to the New Year, doesn’t it? Celebrations every few weeks. We love the season and my dd has become quite the Thanksgiving dinner cook. I’m the dishwasher, since no one wants what I can cook.
