5 Days of Captive Souls
Thursday, July 9th, 2009

Over the next five days, I’m going to introduce you to the three novellas that begin the Captive Souls series. My friends, Kimberly Kaye Terry and Vivi Anna, have written the other two stories in this trilogy. The covers are gorgeous, aren’t they? Our ladies’ adventures are even more intriguing, I promise. And there will be prizes along the way, so be sure to post comments. Click on the covers to learn more.

The Legend

Bacclum, a descendent of the Grigori (angels sent to Earth to be the companion of man) used his inherited abilities to increase his power through spells and enchantments. Carried away with his successes, Bacclum tried to call upon a powerful angel to force him to add to his arsenal of abilities by using his name—something forbidden and dangerous. A simple mispronunciation of the name summons instead, Malvo, a powerful ancient demon, one suffering a long ennui due to his disillusionment with mankind.

Unknown to Bacclum, a guardian gargoyle, Octavius, had been assigned to investigate Bacclum’s sins and punish him if he could not be dissuaded from his search for forbidden power. Octavius, bound to watch over Bacclum, is brought into the battle when Malvo reacts angrily at being awakened by the arrogant mixed-blood angel.

After a long, hard battle, one in which Bacclum is aided by Octavius in fighting the powerful demon, Bacclum believes himself the victor over the demon. However, Malvo, in a last rush of power, uses an enchantment that binds himself, as well as his enemies—Bacclum and the gargoyle Octavius—inside Bacclum’s mansion in an isolated Louisiana parish, but in separate dimensions.

For a century and a half the house sleeps, waiting for another selfish soul to serve it.

New Contest…and winners!
Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Psst! Thanks to everyone who played and posted to my silly blog! But what you really want to know is who won the prizes for the Summertime Contest, right? Well, you’ll just have to keep reading because the names are at the bottom of this page!

Next Tuesday, just six short days away, I have another new release. Something you haven’t seen from me before. Something fun and daring and sexy as HELL—literally. Over the next few days I’ll introduce you to my story and tell you about the other two in this series. Along the way, there will be prizes. But you have to post to win! So let’s get started.

Lust trapped them in darkness…only love can free them…

Petra Pedersen has lived as a recluse all her life thanks to a genetic double whammy—a strange deformity and a shameful power inherited from the father she will never know. The power to incite lust in men and women with just a touch. Exploring the garden of the mansion she’s just inherited, she comes across a fascinating stone gargoyle whose raw, passionate expression draws her to caress its broad chest. Her imagination follows her fluttering fingers. As she closes her eyes and gives herself up to the arousal, something shifts beneath her touch.

Long ago, failure to stop a demon battle trapped Octavius in a prison of stone. Freed by the woman’s incendiary touch, he doesn’t hesitate to unleash his pent-up rage and desire in a blistering fury. Yet once the haze of lust clears, he discovers he isn’t really free after all.

They are both trapped in another realm where he must choose between his last chance for redemption or returning Petra home…

Warning: Sex with inanimate objects, lusty m/m/f ménages with gods…it’s all good when the reward is freedom.

Louisiana 1909

Octavius rammed his shoulder against the heavy oak door. The lock and hinges gave and the door crashed backward with a satisfying thud, raising dust that sifted through the air like silver-gilt fireflies in the moonlight. Wary, he stepped across the threshold. Inside, the house was dark, the air thick—too heavy to be natural.

Progress on HALTERED

That big-ass contest widget is finally gone from my blog! Tomorrow, I’ll name the winners of the contest—and start another contest to celebrate the release of Stone’s Embrace!

So, today I’m just playing catch-up.

I updated my website yesterday. Swam twice. Started a new online class (I’m leading it with my sister), but didn’t write a single, solitary word.

The hero of my latest work is an asshole, and he’s just one in a string of assholes I’ve been writing. Says something about my personal life, I think. Maybe it’s time for some changes there so I can write a nicer guy.

And I hate that title—HALTERED. I already published Saddled, and just turned in BRIDLED. I wanted another one-word title, but HALTERED isn’t doing anything for me. It reminds me of pony sex and that’s not where this story’s going. 😆

Do you have any great title suggestions for me?

See you tomorrow with the names of the winners and the start of the new contest!

Summertime Contest ends today!
Monday, July 6th, 2009

This is your last day to enter. Send me those links where you helped me spread the word about my contest and my stories before I close the door tonight!

In the meantime, I’d love to have you pay a visit to the Access Romance Blog where I’m talking about motivation and looking for suggestions to increase mine!

1 Day–Summertime Contest Countdown!
Sunday, July 5th, 2009

Thanks to everyone for who stopped by and commented over the past weeks! Tomorrow night the contest closes and on Wednesday I’ll announce the winners of the big prizes. Good luck!

Just as a final reminder (and to set up your TBR pile!) these are the books we’ve seen peeks of along the way that are available now for you to purchase:

Don’t expect things to slow down after the “Summertime” contest ends. I have another release coming in a week, and I’ll be sharing snippets from that story as well as the two stories that accompany Stone’s Embrace in the Captive Souls series written by Kimberly Kaye Terry and Vivi Anna! You know there will be bribes (ahem…prizes!) offered along the way!

2 Days–Summertime Contest Countdown!
Saturday, July 4th, 2009

Here’s a quick preview of what’s coming next. As soon as this contest ends, another will start because I have a new book coming July 14th!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Not wanting to waste the waning light, Petra hurried down the stairs and into the large open living room. French doors led to the garden. They opened easily on quiet hinges. She let them close behind her and stepped onto a tiled porch. Stair steps led to a flagstone path. From this elevation she couldn’t see the boundaries of the planting beds they were so choked with weeds.

Three steps downward, a sensation, like the softest velvet brushing past her exposed skin, glided over her as she entered the garden. The late afternoon sunlight dimmed instantly to dusk and she blinked to adjust her eyes. She had to hurry to get her first look at her new home before darkness fell.

At the end of the pathway bordered by tall bushes and made impenetrable by dense vines and weeds, she saw an opening and walked steadily toward what she assumed would be the grassy area beyond the formal garden.

Frogs croaked, crickets chirped, creating a cacophony of sound that reminded her again just how far from home she really was.

The open grass was farther than she’d thought and she considered turning back, but the smells welcomed her. She recognized a hint of roses and paused to inhale the sweet fragrance from small white flowers studding a long vine wrapped around a leggy bush.

Honeysuckle.

She smiled, recognizing the blooms from the pictures of the travel book she’d read on her flight across the sea. The scent was sweet, nearly cloying, but she inhaled deeply, entranced with her discovery. She plucked a bloom and held it cupped in her palm and continued down the narrow pathway.

At the end of the path, she exited the dense, tall foliage into a clearing. A gazebo, its lattices intact but in need of paint, stood against the darkening forest. To her left a stone bench sat next to a large statue. The fading sunlight limned the statue and lent its surface a pearlescent sheen. The figure of a winged gargoyle, its massive body upright, its arms and wings outstretched as though ready to take flight was so exact, so detailed, she couldn’t help but stare. “Oh my.”
