New Year’s Plans… Blech! (Contest)
Saturday, December 29th, 2018

UPDATE: The winner is…Michelle Levan!

I’m a planner by nature and education. I make lists. FOR EVERYTHING. That doesn’t mean I’m super-organized. It just means I track my achievements and know all too well where I fall short.

I teach a free goal-setting class every December to other authors, hoping that while I kick their butts to think about what they want to achieve that I’m inspired to do the same.

So far, I have listed everything I want to do writing-wise. I started out with a goal of making my life a lot easier next year with a sedate writing pace… Yeah. By the time I figured in everything I NEED to write, that easy plan went out the window. Crazy as it is, I have my 2019 writing plan mapped out. But work’s not everything, right?

What about real life? Family fun and obligations. Fitness goals (ha!). My artistic goals (paint for fun, re-open my Etsy store, produce something to sell…). Build my savings. Get ready for retirement (like that will ever happen!).

To get all my goals in alignment, I set up a Bullet Journal. I’ve kept one for about three years now. It’s time-consuming. A pain in the ass to set up and maintain, but everything I need to do is captured in one little journal book. That’s what I’m trying to wrap up today.

So, my question to you is whether you worry about the coming year. Do you plan? Set resolutions? Set up journals or calendars? Answer for a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card!

I do not really make resolutions… I take things day to day… Wishing you a wonderful upcoming New Year!

I don’t have any major plans for 2019. I’m not one for making resolutions either.

I don’t set New Year’s resolutions but I do keep calendars. Lots going on and I have to keep it straight.

I love the idea of journaling and planning ahead, and have tried. My best luck so far has been with gratitude journaling 🙂 For the new year, my goal is courage 🙂 Living boldly, being true to myself, not what I think others want me to be. My crystal wearing, yoga doing, sexy book reading, mantra singing, dancing self 😉

Since I retired I do not plan or make resolutions – too depressing when I don’t keep them.

I do have to plan for blog posts for the book blog I write for – sometimes committing to read a book more than a few months before it is published. I have to be careful because this hobby is starting to be more of a job and I want it to continue to be fun.

Looking forward to all of the new books by you next year!

If I’ve learned anything in my 68 years it’s that life never goes according to plans. So, I don’t make resolutions, try not to make too many plans and just kinda go with the flow. That way, I’m never disappointed and let down that things don’t go as I expected or wanted them to. And no, I’m not a pessimistic, unhappy person. I’ve just learned that life is a journey and we’re just along for the ride, wherever it decides to take us.

No resolutions for me. I try to take one day at a time. It is easier for me that way. I don’t like the pressure. Baby steps, only baby steps for me.

I’m going to try to get my health in order.
I’ve taken care of my family over my health concerns. These last few months have showed me I need to take the time to take care of myself.
