A Winner and a Brand New Contest!
Thursday, November 15th, 2012

A quick FYI for writers… I don’t have any guest blogging dates left November through January. Thanks to everyone who grabbed theirs quickly! 🙂

I’ve been back from my trip a couple of days. I’m caught up with email, sort of, snail mail, and the post-trip laundry. Now, I’m ready to hunker down and write my stubby little fingers off! Send me positive thoughts that I can actually power through the rest of this darn book!

Thought you might like to see the prize I brought back to the winner of The DC Kitschy Contest

And the winner of the DC cup, snow globe, playing cards and magnet is…Kelli Jo Calvert (Nov 10)! Kelli, email me to let me know your snail mail addy. Congrats! And now, I have to catch up on all my mailings! Assistant! Where’s my assistant?

The Random Act of Winning Contest!

What can you win? I don’t know! I love saying that. But really, for the next two weeks, I might pop in one day and choose a winner. The prize might be a free download or a small gift cert from Amazon. I don’t know. Drop by every day and comment, and you might get lucky and find out! 🙂

What do you have to do to win? Post comments on this blog from now until the contest ends! Each time you post counts as another entry!

This contest ends on November 29th!

* * * * *

I’ll start the conversation with a question. Answer for a chance to win. Can’t say for sure I’ll chose a winner today, but that’s the fun of this, right?

If you had to choose weather that’s typical for your area in any given month and make it last the whole year-long, which month’s weather would you choose? Are you a June girl like me? Early summer in Arkansas isn’t horribly muggy just yet, but it is warm enough to heat up my pool. What’s your favorite month’s weather and why? Could you really take it for the whole year? (Yes, I really, really could!)

Sorry, I just couldn’t pick a single month. We need rain, but too much rain would give us mudslides and collapsing cliffs. On the other hand, we can’t skip the rains. The wildfires can be devestating enough in a normal year. Drought years are too scary to actually order one.

For all that the weatherman jokes that his job is a scam, I’d rather let Mother Nature decide what we need. I can live with that.

I live in a banana belt of Canada. Our weather very rarely gets extreme in anything. There is the odd day or week were we get super hot, wet or snow to our ears. But if I had to chose a favorite month I would say September. September can still get the warm days (nice enough to swim) or the cool days which is a nice break in the heat. It is usually cool at night which for me is great for sleeping. It also happens to be the month I was married in. I love September.

Being an Arkansas girl like you, I agree that June is the beat summer weather. Before we hit triple digits.

Otherwise I also like September when its cooled down but not too cold. Perfect for jeans and tshirts

Ooops! I’m using my dd’s phone. Had to change the name.

Maggie! I’ve never heard of the Banana Belt. It sounds like an ideal region to live in.

Kris, you know what I’m talkin’ about!

I’d have to choose September. Autumn is beautiful in Maine. We can still have days in the 70s and 80s or it could cool down to 50s and 60s. The leaves start to change towards the end of the month with the cooler nights…I look forward to it every year.

I think it would be that single day in May when it is warm but not hot yet (I live in the high desert…we change from cold to windy to HOT!).

Being smack dab in the middle of the US gives us weather of great extremes. My personal fave is July’s sweltering heat as I hate being cold. I easily get chilled so love feeling the sunny heat and humidity seep into my bones.

Living in Kansas I would have to go with either April, September or October. But I truely do like all the seasons so I don’t know that I would want to have the same weather all year. Of course in Kansas all you have to do is blink and it changes!

Here in Kentucky, the weather changes very often. I guess if I could choose a month to have that weather all year I would go with probably May, warm but not too hot.

The only weather that is typical are the Winter winds. They blow up from the Antarctic. I wouldn’t wish them on anyone though.

Maybe Spring, because the weather is warming up & hopefully we’d get some Spring showers.

Here in Montana, Winter can be sooooo long! I love September, because it’s just warm enough, and the tree leaves are changing, but there’s just a hint of Fall crispness in the air…yeah….

I gotta go with June-its usually not too hot (menopausal and live in southeast missouri) and the cold is over–we usually get at least a little rain and it s usually just plain decent weather. (Besides-it’s my birthday month) 8)

IT’S KIND OF A TOUGH QUESTION FOR ME, SINCE I AM A ALL-SEASON KIND OF CHICK. I WOULD DEFINITELY LIKE THE MONTH OF JANUARY, WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS JUST RIGHT, TO SNUGGY UP WITH THE FIREPLACE GOING AND READ A GOOD BOOK WITH SOME COFFEE OR COCOA 😛 😉

We have fairly nice weather year round, with fog during the winter. I love the cold weather because I can curl up in a blanket in front of the fire with a glass of wine and a good book.

I live in West Central Florida (close to Tampa). April is my favorite month here in the “Sunshine State”. The weather is perfect, not too much rain and the sunny days are warm enough to have lunch outside; although 75 degrees in December is pretty amazing too. 😆

I live in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Since we only have 2 seasons, it’s pretty much sunny and warm the whole year. but I’ll choose November as my favourite month. It pass the transitional season, so it will be “true” rainy season. The weather is cool, cozy, with light breeze. The falling rain sounds like a soothing melody in my ears with the smell of grass and soil fills up the air. Perfect day to curl up on the bed or couch while sipping a cup of hot tea or capuchinno and thinking that it’s really weird -in good way, of course- such small things like a good weather can amuse you 😉

Western Pennsylvania can be tricky, sometimes 80 degrees in April or 50 degrees in May. Although I am crazy about spring, I think September would be the best month to have all year here.

I’d pick the end of May. Here in Virginia, that’s usually warm but not hot and sticky; possibly some rain, but not hurricane season;sunshine, but not blinding. And yes, I could stand that for a year! 😀

My favorite month is March. Here in Minnesota, March temps may range from 70 above to 15 below. In March, anything is possible. One of my favorite childhood memories is taking a walk in the silent woods at night. The trees around me were still and quiet, but winds howled high in the sky above. Spring was announcing its arrival. Just how cool is March??!!

I live in WV and it gets hot and muggy here in the summer but I do like June too, it’s warm but usually not to muggy yet. I hate feeling like I’m breathing water. Spring is still to chilly and rainy and winter is cold. Fall is too up and down with the day and night temps. If I had to pick my favorite weather from all the places I’ve lived would probably be San Diego.
