A Question…
Thursday, February 27th, 2014

Just a quick note, and then onto the question!

Thanks to everyone who bought REINED IN! I appreciate it very much. I hope you enjoy it, and when you’re done reading it, I’d very much appreciate an honest review, somewhere, to tell other readers about your experience. Readers do pay attention to reviews when they’re trying to decide whether to part with their money. Okay, that was the commercial, let’s have some fun.

I was at my daughter’s house last night. We’re watching SUPERNATURAL, from Season 1 on, because somehow, she missed that show. Can you imagine a life without Sam and Dean? Huh. Anyway, we were on the couch, and all her inside dogs (all little shortie Jack Russells), four of them, were draped over our laps. Two of her four cats were perched on cushions behind us. (She has to vacuum three times a day to keep up with fur and hair—TG, she has tile floors!). She has three large dogs in the back yard. And I wondered where I’d gone wrong. But then I thought, well there are four dogs at my place, an outdoor—sometimes indoor, when it’s cold—cat. I’m not much better. Plus, I have two horses on the pasture.

I don’t consider myself an animal person. I like fish, even though my last betta pulled a Nemo (escaped its fish bowl). But I live in a menagerie, so I wondered whether you have animals living with you as well. Are you a cat or dog person? Do you love snakes and lizards (I’ve always wanted a bearded!)? Birds? Or like me, do you love easy-care fish—when they aren’t committing suicide by jumping from their bowls…?

Having raised 3 children, 2 of whom are male, we have had dogs, cats, turtles, rats, mice, a chicken, a parakeet, anoles( lizard ) and hedgehogs. My two cats , aged 15 both passed on last year so for the first time in 28 years there are no animals in my house. That may be what I request for Mother’s Day…..2 new kitties!

I live with 5 dogs and 1 cat. That number could change at any moment. (Meaning, it could increase. Ha.) I’m always covered in fur as is my house but I wouldn’t trade them for anything. I just wish I could teach them to sweep! Oh and I don’t want lizards inside but I do like the ones zipping around our yard, gardens, back porch, etc. 🙂

You love my animals 🙂 The funniest part is that when you walk in they gravitate towards you lol

No live animals here… nothing against them, but the kids keep me busy enough, and since DH and I didn’t grow up in households with pets, we don’t feel compelled to have a houseful ourselves 😉

    1 dog, 3 cats. 5 hamsters, 2 snakes, 1 salamander, 1 turtle
    and several gold fish

Growing up, I’ve always had dogs. It all started with my first Basset, Flopsy (of Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail fame). From there, we had a menagerie of bassets, cats, fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, white mice, dwarf pony, Shetland pony, various other dogs/mutts, raccoons, etc. I now have two Shih Tzus who I adore — Minnie (13) and Igor (7). Some lizards are nice to look at but I don’t want any. Freakin’ birds terrify me — I was attacked by a momma bird when I was about 4 years old. She wasn’t happy because I picked up her baby that fell out of her nest. I had several fish that committed suicide, too. I have no clue what that was about! Anyway, now I’m pretty much just a dog person. 🙂

My pup is the best. He’s 7 years old and weighs 85 pounds. He is also sure he is a lap dog and sits/lays across my lap whenever he can. He’s a big goofy mutt. I lost one of my dogs last year and now I’m thinking it is time to get another.

My early days was spent on a farm, so there were animals – cats, dogs, bunnies, pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, you get the idea. When I got married, we lived in the city, but there always seemed to be at least one dog around. I tend to be a dog person, but here I am, in my singles apartment with a *gasp* cat. She rules the place. I just pay the rent.

I have adopted pets that needed homes. My dog (Bear) who is outside and will not come up stairs for any reason. You would have to carry him and he is roughly about 120 pound dog. When we got him I believe he was badly abused. Now he is a little more out going especially with the kids. Still shy.
I have two cats that I took in as kittens. The lady was giving them away at WalMart said they were the last two and she was about to just dump them along the road if no one took them. She was tired of standing outside to get rid of them. So I took them. I could not see them just discarded like that. They were just kittens. They are inside only kitties and they are spoiled.
