Word Search: A Blue Moon Tonight & Names of the Full Moons (Contest)
Wednesday, August 30th, 2023

UPDATE: The winner is…Kerry!
*~*~*

Tonight, be sure to step outside, and weather permitting, you’ll see a “super” blue moon!

What is that, you ask? Well, first, a blue moon isn’t actually blue. What it refers to is the appearance of a second full moon within a single month. What makes tonight’s “super?” A super moon occurs when the moon is closest to earth, and it makes it appear larger. So, tonight is a SUPER BLUE moon.

I’m a Cancer according to the astrological chart, so the Moon is my ruling planet. I pay attention to its phases, and I love to follow the pagan lore about the names of the full moons throughout the year. So, today’s puzzle, to commemorate the special moon tonight, is filled with the names of the year’s full moons.

Enjoy the puzzle! For a chance to win a $5 Amazon gift card, tell me whether you’ll step outside to view the blue moon tonight! If you “practice,” be sure to leave a clear jar of water outside in the moonlight! You’ll know what I mean. 🙂

I’m not sure if I will get to see it tonight. We are expecting cloudy/smokey skies here in Utah. I need to look up what it means to put a jar of water outside.

I’m hoping to see it. We’re not expecting rain so it should be clear.😁

If I remember, I will, at the very least, look out the window for this ‘super moon.’ I adore checking out the full moon every month. They are beautiful.

I’ll try to see it but not sure how it will go with the stormy weather we’ve been having. Luckily hurricane Idalia missed my part of Florida.

I’ll go out if I remember. I am at the age that when it gets dark, I prefer to go to bed.

I would like to see it. I don’t think the weather is going to cooperate. Cloudy and rain. Water outside over night will create moon water. That is used for spiritual and emotional healing.

I will be outside tonight and will try to see it. Very cool here today so it will be in the 50’s tonight, too cold to go skyclad but not too cold to put out water.

I won’t be stepping out to look at it. If I had realized it was tonight I would have planned ahead to make time.

I did see it, however we live in town now and so it is not as clear as when we lived in the country on a farm. I miss those views.

I love that so many of you tried to see that special Super Blue Moon! 🙂

It was overcast here where I am, but I set out a jar of water anyway. My dd said she walked dogs in the early morning hours and saw it, so my water was “charged.” And yes, she does think I’m weird.

The winner of the GC is…Kerry!
